THE WAY TO HEAVEN IS THROUGH ROME! WELL NOT EXACTLY

First it would be good to own a Bible, that way you would be able to follow along with me as I give references. As I have said before I believe it is in mans spirit to unite with God. I believe that mans desire to be with God is greater than his desire to be apart from God. This comes from over thirty years of sitting with men and women in their last moments and experiencing them as they cry out for God. No matter how great the godly or how bad the sinner it seems they almost all cry out for God in the end. I will get into that in more detail at a later date, but today lets take a walk on the Roman road.

I will be quoting from two of the books of the “New Testament” of the Bible, the book of “John” and the book of “Romans”. The Apostle John wrote the book of John and the Apostle Paul wrote the book of Romans. Understand when I say that John and Paul “wrote” these books it was there hand that put the words to paper but it was the “Holy Spirit of God” that gave them the words.

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 10:9-10 9.That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10:For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Romans 10;13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Saint Paul under the guiding of the Holy Spirit Not only shows us that we need salvation but how to recieve salvation. Now Saint John will show us that the Lord keeps us as His own, never to lose us.

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting live, 17. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting live, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

John 10:27-28-29 27:My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28: And I give unto them eternal life: and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck tham out of my hand. 29: My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all: and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.

John 20:31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, The Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

Well thats it , the only way to the Father (God) in Heaven is through the Son (Jesus Christ) the choice is yours ! I pray you choose Jesus. If you do pray this prayer with me,

Jesus I have read and understand what the Bible says and I choose Heaven, I believe you are the Son of God sent to save me, come into my life now and be my Lord forever, I turn myself over to you, and confess you are Lord and the Son of God. Amen

Now go and get a bible and read the book of John, also find a church to visit.

Why Do I Need Salvation?

Why Salvation? I’m not even sure what salvation is and you tell me I need it! What is SALVATION ? Salvation is a church word that means that you are secure for all time in Gods home (heaven).

When God made man we were meant to be with God, most of us have heard the story of Adam and Eve, but for those that haven’t this is how it went… In the beginning God created man, God placed Adem in a garden which He called “Eden” and God told Adam NEVER and He meant NEVER eat the food from the tree of ” the knowledge of good and evil” for when you eat of it you will surely die. Then the Lord God said, it is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him. So out of the ground the Lord God formed all the beast of the fields, and the birds of the air and brought them to the man for him to name and whatever he called them that was its name.

But for Adam no suitable helper was found, so the Lord God caused Adam to fall into a deep sleep and took one of his ribs and formed a woman from it, and He brought her to the man. The man said; this is now bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh she shall be called woman for she was taken out of man!

For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.

OK time goes by and one day the woman comes to the “TREE” she sees how nice it looks but also the devil is waiting for her, he temps her he says do you really think God will kill you just for taking one little bite? Surly not He loves you to much! Go get Adam Lets ask him. poor Adam its a loosing battle seeing as there is only one woman in the garden and SURLY he doesn’t want to loose her.So Adam agrees with her and they take a small bite of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil……NOW UNDERSTAND , BEFORE THIS VERY MOMENT IN TIME NO ANIMAL HAD EVER EATEN ANOTHER. MAN HAD NEVER EATEN ANYTHING THAT WAS NOT GROWN IN THE GARDEN. NOTHING HAD BEEN KILLED!! Now the Lion sees the Lamb as food for the first time, all the wild beast see the other animals as pray to be killed and eaten. Death was something NEW to the garden. Adam and Eve realized that they were not clothed tried to cover up with the leaves of trees and to hide from God. SIN HAD ENTERED THE GARDEN!

God puts them out of the garden along with every living thing and locks the garden and puts guardian Angles at the door. Man is now SEPARATED from God. One man separated us from God (Adam) it will take one man (Jesus) to bring us back to God.

So Jesus does two (2) things by his blood sacrifice on the cross: 1: God forgives the sin of Adam in the garden 2: Jesus takes all of our sins away with his blood sacrifice so that God now sees us clean and pure once again. But there is something we must do! we must believe that Jesus is the SON of God and that God raised Him from the dead. Not just say the words but believe them in our heart. Then we receive SALVATION. It is a free gift already paid for by Jesus on the cross by his blood all we have to do is except it.

If you can do that. believe that Jesus is the son of God and believe that God raised him from the dead pray this prayer with me, Lord God I believe that Jesus rose from the dead and is the son of God come to remove my sins by his blood sacrifice on the cross, Jesus I believe, save me . AMEN

IN THE BEGINNING, GOD!

In the beginning, GOD! That is so simple. God always was always is and always will be. At this point I’m not overly concerned how you refer to my heavenly Father its how you refer to Him after He touches your life that matters. From the very start of mans walk on this earth he has known of God, we see proof of that in the many alters left in so many countries around the world. But what does this have to do with you and me? Not a whole lot really, it just sets a foundation to let us know for sure that God always was and will be there in the future for us, in other words He is not a here today and gone tomorrow type of guy!!

Over the years God tried many ways to have an ongoing Fatherly relationship with man but we kept moving away from Him doing the things we wanted to do that led to damnation (separation from God). Finally He sends His Son Jesus in the form of a man to live as a man (not as god) to experience life as a man to be tempted as a man to feel pain as a man to see women as a man would and be sinless and finally be killed for our sins as the word of God said that it would take a Blood sacrifice to make man clean of his sins and be forgiven. No matter what his past, no matter what he (or she) had done they would be forgiven simply by BELEIVING THAT 1. JESUS IS THE SON OF GOD 2. HE DIED FOR OUR SINS 3. ASKING JESUS TO BE OUR GOD.(SAVIOR) THATS IT no tricks no gimmics just believe that Jesus is the son of God and ask him to save you…..The bible puts it this way, in the book of Romans Chapter 10 Verse s 9&10 if you believe in you heart and say it with your mouth that Jesus is the son of God you shall be saved, (I put it in simple english, go get a bible and read it for yourself) So if you would rather go to Heaven than go to Hell and you really believe that Jesus is the son of God pray this prayer with me:

Jesus I believe you are the son of God sent to save mankind,save me. Today I call on your name as Lord and believe in my heart that you are my Lord. Today I become a Christian. Thank you for saving me. AMEN

What Will I Talk About?

I guess I should get some pre-lims out of the way before I go any further. I was a minister for over thirty (30) years prior to my retirement, most of that time without this thing called the “Internet” so weekly like so many other pastors I would preach to small congregations in hopes that my sermon would reach just one. Now with the Internet it will be possible to share my sermons with so many more with the hope of reaching so many more, so that is what this web site will be about. I’m not a regular blogger, I’m not even sure anybody will read this but if they do they will know that from now on I will be talking about one thing and one thing only and that is how a person any person no matter how good or how bad they are can get into HEAVEN, so if you or someone you know needs to know how to get into Heaven come back tomorrow afternoon EST. or any day after today (Thursday 09/04/08).
